At the 2016 African American Prostate Cancer Disparity Summit, a panel discussion of top leaders focused on how churches can spread prostate cancer awareness throughout Black communities. Rev. Tan C. Moss explained that, with PHEN’s help, the Greater Grant Memorial AME Church has hosted an annual Prostate Cancer Symposium.

 

PHEN Ambassador Dr. Artie Shelton emphasized working with churches to increase early detection and including women in the process of educating men. Ms. Golden Bethune-Hill from The Community Free Clinic also mentioned how PSA screening can be life-saving, as it has helped save her father’s life.
