PHEN Ambassador Mr. Barney Morris welcomed the audience to the fourth session of the 21st Annual African American Prostate Cancer Disparity Summit, outlining the history of PHEN. Mr. Thomas Farrington founded the organization in 2003 to provide education about prostate cancer to African American men and to increase support and resources to this population.
Mr. Morris shared his personal prostate cancer story, explaining how a routine physical exam and PSA test led to his diagnosis at only 41 years of age. The session includes a discussion of other prostate cancer journeys from survivors. Mr. Morris also introduced Ms. Tomeeka Miller, Special Assistant to the President at PHEN.
