2025 Summit Session 3: Closing Remarks with Thomas A. Farrington

PHEN President and Founder Mr. Thomas A. Farrington provided closing remarks at the third session of the 2025 Prostate Cancer Disparity Summit. He thanked the speakers, including prostate cancer survivors and medical experts, for their presentations and discussions.

“We talk about making prostate cancer a chronic disease that we can live with. It appears that we have made significant strides toward that. In fact, for many men, prostate cancer is a chronic disease,” explained Mr. Farrington. “We’ve made great progress.”

“When we decided to get involved with clinical trial awareness for prostate cancer some years ago, it was with the knowledge that we as Black patients were not participating enough in these trials. We understood how they may benefit us… There have been other trials [and] real-world data that show that Black men perform very well in some of these treatments.”

The audience also took a survey about the third summit session. The results show that 93% of the audience was very satisfied with the summit and 100% were happy with the session’s pace. In addition, 100% of the survey takers rated the panel discussion as very good. Lastly, 100% thought the presentations were educational and helpful for understanding the topic.
