PHEN Founder and President Mr. Thomas A. Farrington welcomed the audience to the first session of the 2025 PHEN Prostate Cancer Disparity Summit.
Farrington recalled how PHEN has been hosting its Summit for the past 21 years. “We are still at the very beginning of making changes in this fight against prostate cancer,” said Farrington.
Farrington recalled that the very first Summit was coordinated in partnership with former Massachusetts Senator John Kerry and Congressman Gregory Meeks (NY) and how it has evolved throughout the years from a one-day meeting in the Rayburn House Office Building on Capitol Hill, to a two-day conference as part of the Congressional Black Caucus weekend, and then became virtual during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Congressman Meeks is still with us, still supports us, and is anxious to do more in what he can in the fight against prostate cancer,” said Farrington.
