Dr. Keith Crawford presents findings from PHEN’s Black Men’s Prostate Cancer Awareness Survey, conducted in communities across Boston, Providence, Maryland and Washington, D.C.
The findings reveal an important gap between awareness and action. While many respondents knew that Black men face a higher risk of prostate cancer and expressed a willingness to receive a PSA blood test, nearly half reported that they had never been tested. More than half did not know how often they should receive a PSA test.
Dr. Crawford explains how education, access and direct conversations with healthcare providers can turn awareness into informed action and help prevent late-stage prostate cancer diagnoses.
