The Charlotte Prostate Cancer Community Rally program began with an opening prayer from Rev. Dr. Derrill A. Blue, Pastor from the Little Rock AME Zion Church. Afterward, PHEN’s Special Assistant to the President Tomeeka Miller provided an introduction of PHEN. The next portion included a discussion from Rev. Adrian Backus, Director of Church Partnerships and Outreach at PHEN, about the results from the Prostate Cancer Community Rally since its inception in 2021 and the church partnerships that have made a real difference in prostate cancer awareness.
To round out the session, leaders from the AME Zion Church including Presiding Elder Rev. Scot C. Moore and Director of Health Ministry Iyabode Beysolow, MD, MPH, delivered a special presentation and signed a health agreement between PHEN and the Men of the AME Zion Church.
