Community Outreach, Mobilization, Engagement Strategies and Outcomes Opening Remarks

Mr. Thomas Farrington welcomed the audience to the second session of PHEN’s 19th Annual African American Prostate Cancer Disparity Summit. He explained how community outreach has been a major focus of PHEN since its founding in 2003. Prostate cancer still has the largest racial disparity of any type of major cancer.

PHEN will continue to bring awareness to this disparity via community outreach. The second session focuses on community and church partnerships. Mr. Farrington further discussed online portals promoting prostate cancer detection, treatment, and clinical trials that will be available to church members.
