Mr. DeWayne Charleston advises Black men to participate in clinical trials

Mr. DeWayne Charleston, 14-Year Prostate Cancer Survivor, Houston, TX

African American men have a rate of prostate cancer mortality more than twice that of all other men. Historically, prostate cancer clinical trials have had little diversity. As such, 14-year prostate cancer survivor Mr. DeWayne Charleston advises Black men to participate in clinical trials for better treatments to decrease the racial disparity behind this disease.

As part of PHEN’s Houston Prostate Cancer Disparity Rally, Mr. Charleston recorded this video explaining how he benefited from clinical trials.
