As part of PHEN’s Charlotte Prostate Cancer Disparity Rally, Rep. Nasif Majeed of the North Carolina House of Representatives, 99th District, recorded a video message emphasizing the importance of early prostate cancer detection. This is personal to him, as he has seen friends pass away from the disease.
“Prostate cancer is a crisis within Black communities. [However,] knowledge about early detection screening is key to beating prostate cancer,” stated Rep. Majeed. “I’ve seen too many men – friends of mine – die of this disease.”
