Enhancing Clinical Trial Awareness and Increasing Participation of Black Patients Moderator Remarks

Dr. Keith Crawford discussed how this program is meant to increase awareness about the disparity in prostate cancer clinical trials among Black men. He further explained how the audience should pay attention to the three Cs: cutting-edge technology, concierge healthcare service, and no/low cost to participate in a trial. While the technology or innovations haven’t been approved by the FDA, they show promise in the clinical setting. Concierge service means you get the best care in clinical trials with a larger team.

Dr. Crawford explained how medical experts are making progress every day in increasing the number of African Americans participating in clinical trials. However, a disparity exists, and this session covers what is being done to address it.
