Deacon Donna Barksdale, Wellness Ministry Leader at the First Baptist Church of South Richmond

Deacon Donna Barksdale thanked PHEN for promoting clinical trial participation and emphasized the importance of early prostate cancer detection. Her own father was diagnosed with prostate cancer early, which allowed him to live up until 86 years of age. Senior Pastor Dr. Dwight C. Jones of the First Baptist Church of South Richmond along with Deacon Barksdale have provided leadership and support to their wellness ministry while promoting their partnership with PHEN.

They have held virtual seminars and other men’s health events that emphasized early prostate cancer detection and treatment options. Currently, the deacon’s house of worship will share PHEN resources through its church portal.
