NCCN Prostate Cancer Screening Guidelines

Simpa Salami, MD, MPH, Assistant Professor of Urology at the University of Michigan Health, Michigan Medicine

Dr. Simpa Salami went over NCCN [National Comprehensive Cancer Network] prostate cancer screening guidelines. The guidelines state all men should begin prostate cancer testing at 45 years of age. Further, frequency of testing is recommended based on PSA results. A PSA less than 1.0 ng/mL needs repeat testing every two to four years. A PSA between 1.0 and 3.0 ng/mL needs repeat testing every one to two years. By age 75, men can stop screening.
