At the third session of the 2024 Prostate Cancer Disparity Summit, PHEN President and Founder Thomas A. Farrington provided the opening remarks. He thanked the moderator Dr. Keith Crawford, the participants, and the audience for coming to the program. He also thanked the sponsors and explained how pivotal they are in helping PHEN address the racial disparities behind prostate cancer.
“All of our sponsors are very special,” he said. “Without them, we wouldn’t be here today.”
He explained how the third session will focus on the strategies aimed at making prostate cancer into a chronic and treatable disease. Mr. Farrington hopes that other men diagnosed with this condition will survive it for many years into the future, as he is a 24-year prostate cancer survivor himself. The PHEN President then introduced a presentation from PHEN’s Director of Communications Ms. Tomeeka Miller, celebrating the 20 years of past summits.
