During the Q&A, the panel experts explained the need for early diagnosis, as prostate cancers that exhibit symptoms are often late-stage and have more medical concerns for the patients. Dr. Wong explained that elevated PSA levels may indicate a benign or cancerous condition, which means patients will need to get a biopsy to confirm. The US Preventive Services Task Force is also pushing for more data to see whether PSA testing makes a significant difference among Black men.
