State of Black Prostate Cancer Disparity: 2026 Annual Address

Thomas A. Farrington presents PHEN’s inaugural State of Black Prostate Cancer Disparity Annual Address and Report Card.

Drawing on national prostate cancer data and more than two decades of advocacy, Farrington assesses progress in treatment, research, public awareness and early detection. He explains why Black men continue to experience higher rates of prostate cancer diagnosis, late-stage disease and death—and calls for modern screening guidance that reflects today’s treatments, diagnostic tools and scientific knowledge.

Farrington also outlines a vision for the next decade of action, emphasizing early detection, increased public awareness, stronger community outreach and a healthcare system that gives high-risk men a better chance of long-term survival.
