PHEN President and Founder Mr. Thomas Farrington held a Memoriam segment at the end of the PHEN 2023 Summit: Session IV. He recognized two gentlemen who had passed, outlining their contributions to PHEN as Survivor Network Members. Mr. Clarence Randall Hogan, Jr., born in 1931, passed away on September 13, 2022. He was a Boston, MA resident who supported PHEN activities in Boston for many years. He helped with outreach and attended as many meetings as he could. PHEN appreciates what Mr. Hogan brought to PHEN’s efforts to help other men.
Mr. Farrington also mentioned Mr. Joseph Levi Roper who was born in 1934 and passed on July 12, 2023. Mr. Roper was also a Boston resident and had attended 19 of PHEN’s Annual African American Prostate Cancer Disparity Summits in Washington, D.C. starting in 2005. He committed many years of his life to helping men with prostate cancer ever since the founding of PHEN. Mr. Farrington emphasized the importance of outreach in local communities.
