Prostate cancer survivor Mr. Jimmy Barnes was first diagnosed with the disease in 1993 and received a radical prostatectomy along with radiation treatment. Over 10 years later, he was given chemotherapy followed by Lupron treatments. At Duke University, he met Dr. Andrew Armstrong and was then assigned the Xtandi chemotherapy drug via a clinical trial. Over the years, Mr. Barnes underwent five clinical trials to treat his prostate cancer. Mr. Barnes explained his mission in life is to encourage other men to pursue clinical trials to save their lives.
