PHEN Founder and President Mr. Thomas Farrington provided opening remarks at the second session of the 2024 Prostate Cancer Disparity Summit. He first thanked the moderator Rev. Adrian Backus and recognized his leadership in community outreach.
He welcomed the participants and panelists taking part in the second session. Most importantly, he explained how this program will target strategies to further increase prostate cancer awareness within communities. Community education has been a large component of PHEN’s success since its founding. For instance, PHEN Survivor Network Members and Ambassadors provide online educational resources and handouts by meeting with the public at local community events.
“We are looking to expand community outreach efforts to support the increased needs of men diagnosed with prostate cancer,” stated Mr. Farrington. “There is a growing need for community outreach. We have a number of different approaches for providing [this].”
